Riflebutts Reserve – Prevelly Beach, Margaret River
Surfers Point Road, Prevelly
This park is nothing short of spectacular! Nestled in the beautiful beaches of Prevelly, it has so many little features to delight and amaze big and small kids alike! It would certainly be easy to drive past this one and not even notice!
There’s plenty of room to kick a ball, have a bbq or picnic and just hang out and relax.
A lovely little playground for the kids with softfall base, a slide, lots of climbing equipment. The actual playground is more suited to older kids (3 plus), however the park is suitable for all ages as there’s many other things for the little ones to explore.
There are plenty of paths for scooters, steps to climb, walkways to explore, grass to roll on or kick a ball. You really could spend the whole morning here.
It is quite a windy spot so it may not be the best winter park, but you can be sure it is THE place to take the family in spring, summer and autumn. It is quite protected though.
You can access the park from the walk way at the top of the hill, however it’s a pretty steep walk, so would suit older children or kids in a carrier. And it’s not the getting down, it’s the getting back up! You can also access the park from the other side, which might be easier with smaller kids. When we found this one, I walked down from the top of the road, which was a beautiful way to take in the beaches.
Best features – we loved the uniqueness of this park in Prevelly and the statues were lots of fun to pose with and take some funny photos for the memory books.
Negatives – it can be hard to get to, so pack light.

Happy Park Time!
Meet your Chief Park Reviewers! Haze is 4 and loves to climb as high as he can and always finds a way to climb up the slide rather than down it. His favourite playground equipment is the swing. Tex is 16 months and he loves to swing, slide and give mummy a heart attack by attempting to fly off unguarded platforms. They tell me they have the best job in the world!
