We’ve got playground suggestions covering the South West, so you’re sure to find one near you.
Why are nature playgrounds so popular these days?
Simply put, a natural playground gives children the freedom for self directed playtime. They are able to use their imagination, act out the ideas created in their minds and invent their own games.
Nature playscapes use elements which are deemed natural, like sand, water, wood and plants. Man made products are often included but are used sparingly. The colours in these playgrounds are almost always natural and muted.

Yallingup Nature Reserve
This is a gorgeous nature based playground set right on the beach in Yallingup. Kids will be mesmerised by all the things to do. There is a fort, swings, slides, ropes … all set in a base of sand. Children will be mesmerised by this truly unique play space, set beside the rolling waves and white sand of Yallingup.

Myalup Nature Reserve
This is such a gorgeous little park! Lots to do for kids of all ages including a rope climbing frame, basketball court, slide, swings and loads of grass to enjoy! Crooked Carrot Nature Playground
The Crooked Carrot has recently installed this fabulous nature playground for their customers to enjoy. We are absolutely in love with it and my boys spent hours wrapped up in imaginative play, complete with a gumnut shop! I secretly think the best thing about this playground is that it’s located at a local cafe that serves great coffee and food, however, the actual play space is absolutely wonderful in it’s own right.

Port Geographe Marina Nature Playground
You will be in awe of this stunning nature playscape situated next to the picturesque Geographe Marina. With huge concrete tunnels, slides and loads of lovely green grass to roll around in, the kids will be occupied for hours! And when they get bored with the playground, you can take them for a walk along the calm waters of the Marina.
You can find out more about this lovely area, including how to get there, here.
Eaton Foreshore Nature Playground
Set on the picturesque Eaton Foreshore, this lovely playground has many elements of a nature playscape. There’s even sometimes a coffee van at this location, which is a big bonus if you love coffee as much as I do!
Happy Park Time!
