Dunsborough Playing Fields – Playgrounds

Dunsborough Lakes Drive, Dunsborough

In addition to the fantastic Skate Park, Dunsborough Fields is also home to two great little playgrounds.  One is fully fenced and secure and one is fenced on the road side, with the oval side open.

Small Fenced Playground

There is a little playground at the end of the carpark which is fully fenced and has a small picnic table next to it too.  It is perfect for younger kids … and kids who love to run!  Or Mums who just want some peace of mind when they take a few seconds to look down at their phone.  The playground is lower to the ground than ones aimed at older kids, so my 18 month old found it easier to manoeuvre.  But my 4 year old still enjoyed it, even though he wanted to get out of the fence quicker.

The playground is sand based.  I’m not a fan of getting sand in absolutely everything, but I must admit that my boys do love the sand based playgrounds, it is definitely another activity for them to engage in.

Main Playground

The main playground is fenced on the car park side, but opens out onto the main oval.  The playground is wood chip based and features quite a lot of climbing based equipment, as well as a double slide.

It is unshaded through the winter months, which is great on those colder days where some sunshine is necessary to warm the bones.

There is a great path for kids to use their scooters.  And the oval is a plus as if it’s not being used for sport, it’s a great place for Mums to sit and have a coffee and for a picnic too!

Dunsborough Skate Park

Dunsborough Playing Fields is also home to a fantastic Skate Park!

It features quite a deep bowl and plenty of banks and quarters.  It caters for all levels of skating expertise.

Plenty of seating available around the park, easy parking and toilets close by (yes Mums, this one is a winner!).  I was also able to navigate the pram around the park really easily.

This relatively new skate park is a must visit.  It's set alongside the Dunsborough Playing Fields.  It features quite a deep bowl and plenty of banks and quarters.  It caters for all levels of skating expertise. Plenty of seating available around the park, easy parking and toilets close by (yes Mums, this one is a winner!).  I was also able to navigate the pram around the park really easily. Another plus for Dunsborough is it's close proximity to two parks (one is fenced) and a large oval.

Toilets are available at Dunsborough Playing Fields.

Park Review South West Mums
SWM Chief Park Reviewers

Meet your Chief Park Reviewers!  Haze is 4 and loves to climb as high as he can and always finds a way to climb up the slide rather than down it.  His favourite playground equipment is the swing.  Tex is 18 months and he loves to swing, slide and give mummy a heart attack by attempting to fly off unguarded platforms.  They tell me they have the best job in the world!
